Why This Policy Exists
In a health content landscape full of hidden sponsorships, AI-generated misinformation, and financially-motivated reviews, content integrity is not optional — it is the foundation of everything we do. This policy exists so that every reader, researcher, and brand can see exactly what standards govern every word we publish.
What Is Content Integrity?
Content integrity means that every article, review, guide, and resource published on ShamimGuide is accurate, honest, transparent, independent, and fair. It means our readers can trust what we say — not because we ask them to, but because we can demonstrate exactly how and why our content meets those standards.
For a health product review website, content integrity is especially critical. Health decisions made on the basis of inaccurate or biased information can have real consequences for real people. We take that responsibility seriously.
Our Core Content Integrity Principles
Six non-negotiable principles govern every piece of content published on ShamimGuide:
Accuracy
Every factual claim is verified against credible, peer-reviewed sources before publication. We do not publish claims we cannot substantiate.
Non-NegotiableHonesty
We tell the truth about products — including when the truth is negative. We never soften or omit findings because they are commercially inconvenient.
AlwaysTransparency
We disclose all material relationships — affiliate links, sponsored content, free products — clearly and conspicuously, before readers engage with content.
Always DisclosedIndependence
Our editorial ratings and verdicts are determined solely by evidence-based criteria. No commercial relationship influences our scores or recommendations.
Editorial OnlyFairness
Every product is evaluated using the same criteria regardless of brand size, reputation, or commercial relationship with ShamimGuide.
Equal StandardsCurrency
We regularly audit and update our content to reflect new research, formula changes, and safety alerts. Outdated information is corrected promptly.
6–12 Month AuditsAccuracy Standards
Accuracy is our highest editorial priority. We apply the following standards to every piece of content before publication:
Fact-Checking Process
Claim Identification
Every factual claim in an article is identified and flagged for verification — including statistics, study results, product specifications, and health outcome claims.
Primary Source Verification
Each claim is traced back to its primary source — the original clinical study, regulatory document, or official data. We do not accept secondary or tertiary sources as verification.
Contextual Accuracy Check
We verify not only that a claim is technically accurate but that it is presented in correct context. A study showing an ingredient works at 500mg is not evidence that 50mg works.
Medical Review (Where Required)
Articles covering medical conditions, drug interactions, or clinical health claims are reviewed by our board-certified physician before publication.
Citation Addition
Verified claims are supported with direct citations to primary sources, allowing readers to independently verify our evidence base at any time.
Editorial Independence
ShamimGuide maintains complete editorial independence from all commercial partners, advertisers, and reviewed brands. The following rules are absolute and cannot be overridden by any business consideration:
✅ We ALWAYS Do This
- Evaluate products solely on evidence-based merit
- Publish negative reviews when products earn them
- Include both pros and cons in every review
- Disclose all affiliate and commercial relationships
- Apply the same scoring criteria to every product
- Attribute all content to named, credentialled authors
- Update content when facts change
- Publish corrections prominently and without delay
✗ We NEVER Do This
- Accept payment for positive reviews or rankings
- Allow brands to review or approve content before publication
- Adjust scores based on affiliate commission rates
- Remove honest negative reviews under brand pressure
- Publish health claims we know to be false or exaggerated
- Omit safety warnings because they hurt a product's score
- Accept gifts that influence editorial judgment
- Disguise sponsored content as organic editorial reviews
Source Standards
All factual health claims on ShamimGuide must be supported by credible, verifiable sources. We operate a strict source hierarchy:
| Tier | Source Type | Examples | Acceptable For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Gold Standard Research | PubMed RCTs, systematic reviews, meta-analyses | All health efficacy and safety claims |
| Tier 2 | High Authority Bodies | NIH, WHO, Mayo Clinic, NHS, WebMD (clinical pages) | General health information and definitions |
| Tier 3 | Reference Sources | Examine.com, Healthline (cited), FDA, EFSA regulatory docs | Supplementary info — always corroborated by Tier 1/2 |
| ❌ Not Accepted | Unreliable Sources | Brand websites, press releases, unsourced blogs, Wikipedia | Never used as primary source for health claims |
We link to primary sources directly in articles wherever possible. We never misrepresent or overstate what a study shows — if research has limitations, we note them explicitly.

Conflicts of Interest Policy
A conflict of interest exists when a personal, financial, or professional relationship could — even subconsciously — influence editorial judgment. ShamimGuide has a formal policy for identifying and managing such conflicts.
Declaration Requirements
Before working on any product review, all contributors must declare whether they have:
- Any financial relationship with the brand being reviewed (employment, ownership, or investment)
- Received free products, payments, gifts, or hospitality from the brand
- Personal relationships with the brand's employees or founders
- Previously published paid content for the brand
How Conflicts Are Handled
| Conflict Type | Action Taken |
|---|---|
| Financial relationship with reviewed brand | Reviewer reassigned — they cannot review that product |
| Free product received from brand | Disclosed in article — reviewer may proceed with heightened scrutiny |
| Personal relationship with brand team | Reviewer reassigned or second reviewer assigned for verification |
| Previously paid content for brand | Reviewer reassigned — independent reviewer assigned instead |
Sponsored Content Rules
On rare occasions, ShamimGuide may publish content that has been funded by a brand. When this occurs, the following rules are absolute:
- Always clearly labelled: Sponsored content is labelled "Sponsored," "Paid Partnership," or "Advertisement" — prominently, before the reader engages with the content. This labelling cannot be removed or minimised at a brand's request.
- Same accuracy standards apply: Sponsored content must meet our full fact-checking and accuracy standards. We do not publish factually misleading sponsored health content.
- Editorial opinion remains ours: Brands can suggest topics and provide factual input but cannot dictate our opinions, conclusions, tone, or the inclusion of safety caveats.
- Medical accuracy is enforced: All sponsored health content goes through the same medical review process as our organic content.
- Visually differentiated: Sponsored content is presented in a distinct visual format so it is never mistaken for an independent organic review.
How Rare Is Sponsored Content on ShamimGuide?
As of April 2026, sponsored content on ShamimGuide is extremely rare. The overwhelming majority of our content is produced entirely independently with no brand funding or involvement of any kind.
AI & Technology Content Policy
As AI writing tools become more prevalent in content production, we believe readers deserve transparency about how technology is — and is not — used in creating the content they read and trust for health decisions.
Our AI Policy
- AI is not used to generate health claims or product evaluations. All supplement reviews, ingredient analyses, and health assessments are written by qualified human reviewers using primary sources.
- AI tools may be used for structural assistance (e.g., formatting, grammar checking) on non-health-critical content. Where this occurs, all facts and health claims are human-verified before publication.
- AI-generated content is never published without human expert review. No content goes live on ShamimGuide based solely on AI output without a qualified reviewer verifying its accuracy and appropriateness.
- We do not use AI to generate fake user testimonials or simulate clinical data of any kind.
Reader Feedback & Content Challenges
We genuinely welcome challenges to our content. If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, misleading, biased, or unfair, we want to know — regardless of whether you are a reader, a brand, a healthcare professional, or a researcher.
What Constitutes a Valid Content Challenge
- A specific factual claim that is demonstrably incorrect, with a primary source as evidence
- A safety concern or drug interaction that our review omits or understates
- A scoring criterion that we have demonstrably applied inconsistently
- A conflict of interest that we have failed to disclose
What Does NOT Constitute a Valid Content Challenge
- A brand's disagreement with a negative rating that reflects accurate findings
- A personal opinion that differs from our evidence-based conclusion
- A request to remove or soften a negative review without new factual evidence
We Respond to Every Credible Challenge
We acknowledge all substantive challenges within 5 business days and respond with our findings — even when we disagree. If your challenge reveals a genuine error, we correct the article and credit you in the correction notice (with your consent). Use our Contact Form and select "Content Correction."
Accountability
Publishing a Content Integrity Policy is only meaningful if there is genuine accountability behind it. Here is how ShamimGuide holds itself accountable to the standards set out in this document:
Our Public Accountability Commitments
These are the mechanisms through which we ensure this policy is lived — not just published.
